I love old rhymes and sayings - and I’ve always liked the old rhyme about magpies (one for sorrow, two for joy) so I wanted to make a print inspired by it.
Two magpies flying across the sun, with JOY picked out nice and bold. I like the idea that spotting two magpies is meant to bring a bit of good luck, and there’s something lovely about having that little bit of folklore hanging on your wall.
